If your A/V system consists of more than a few simple devices,
it likely contains some or all of the following items:
audio devices such as microphones, microphone mixers, audio
cassette decks, CD players, feedback suppressors, signal
processors, amplifiers, equalizers, distribution amplifiers,
speakers, and teleconferencing equipment,
video equipment such as VCRs, tracking cameras, video cameras,
document cameras, scan converters, CRT projectors, LCD projectors,
plasma displays, monitors, televisions, projection screens,
and videoconferencing equipment,
computers, interfaces, switchers, matrix switchers, routers...........and
the list goes on forever..
Also, chances are that it includes, or should include some
type of remote control system. By this, we mean a system
that allows you to easily manage all of those components
from a single location and to get on with the business of
communicating. If this is the case, then you have perhaps
discovered that the lack of a control system or poor programming
of the control system you do have not only threatens the
functional integrity of the A/V system as a whole, it causes
a loss of time and money as well, and an increase in headaches
for you.
